Biographical Info

I am a Doctoral student at Georgia State University School of Public Health, following a career in nursing and healthcare management & consulting. I am transitioning to an academic and research career focus, where I intend to become a leader in developing public policy and programs to improve population health. My long-term goal is to become a researcher, educator and scholar of population health; psychological, social, and economic health determinants; built environments; and related public policy. I believe that just as the healthcare system must adjust to addressing chronic diseases and an aging population, Public Health must expand its emphasis and leadership in managing social determinants as well as the complex “upstream” factors that affect population health.
