Joy Ku, PhD, is the Director of Communications and Engagement of the Mobilize Center, an NIH Big Data to Knowledge Center of Excellence based at Stanford University. She leads their efforts in data sharing and in establishing collaborations to bring wearables into clinical and research applications. Previously, she was the Director of Simbios, the NIH National Center for Physics-Based Simulations of Biological Structures. She is interested in the Health Data Exploration Network to explore potential collaborations and to stay informed about activities at the intersection of big data and health, particularly those related to physical activity and conditions that limit mobility, such as osteoarthritis, cerebral palsy, and Parkinson’s.
